DURHAM: James “Jim” Rimmer, 74, of Durham died April 4, 2018 at his home in Durham. He was born on February 3, 1944 in Durham, NC. He was the son of the late Bunnie Daniel Rimmer and Corane Margaret Rimmer, and was one of four children. In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by his companion, Patricia Ray; brother, Basil Rimmer; and sister, Willary Rimmer.

Jim graduated from Southern High. He was a man who loved his job as a truck driver for South Chem. He enjoyed his retirement that gave him the opportunity to piddle and enjoy his furry kids Bumper and Diamon. Jim was passionate about his automobiles and “big boy” toys. He loved his family and was proud of his children and grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Cindy Jackson and fiancé Jack; granddaughter, Alexis Jackson; grandson, Nick Jackson; step-children, Paul Ray and wife Cheryl, Kim Ray and partner John; step-grandson, Cameron Ray; sister, Ann Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held.
