Obituary for Patricia Fink Owen

Durham: Patricia was born in New York’s Staten Island on August 20, 1942, named Patricia Lynne Fink by her parents, Royal Edward Fink, Sr. and Mary Lake Fink., who later moved south to Sarasota, Florida where Patricia grew up.

She married Thomas M. Owen on September 15, 1962 they had three sons, Scott, Steven, Bryan and four grandchildren. After fifteen years living in Tampa, Florida, the family decided to move to Durham and new adventures.

While living in Durham, Patricia became involved with volunteering at Duke Hospital helping in the Gift Shops and the Nearly New Shoppe, a thrift shop organized by Duke medical wife’s for the purpose of providing scholarships to the medical students. She worked with these organizations for thirty-seven years until her health failed and she passed on September 26, 2018. She was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class at Gorman Baptist Church.

Patricia is survived by her brother, Royal Edward Fink, Jr.

She will be missed by family, friends and co-workers. May she rest in peace.

Per her wishes, no services are planned.
