Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Johnson

HILLSBOROUGH: Charles “Chuck” Johnson, 85, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his home in Hillsborough. He was born in Cook Co., Illinois to the late Robert Clarke Johnson and Jessica Charlotte Morgan Johnson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Macbeth; brother-in-law, Bill Macbeth, and granddaughter, Katie Stout.

Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He retired from George Pacific as a building supply sales associate. He had a love for all sports. He was a football official in the Southern Conference for many years, and clock operator for the Carolina Panthers for 10 years.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Marsha Johnson; daughters, Marian Stout (Tom), Jane Johnson; son, Bob Johnson (Ginger); step-daughter, Tiffany Powers; step-son, Kevin Taylor (Larry Gray); brother, Bobby Johnson (Betty); grandchildren, David Johnson, Sarah Jane Stout, Lilly Stout, Morgan Powers, Brooke Powers, Jessica Powers.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 27th at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham with Pastor Earl Echols officiating.
