Life Legacy


JOYCE WOMACK GLENN
DURHAM _ Joyce Womack Glenn, 69, of Durham, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 10, 2011, with her family and friends by her side. She fought a courageous battle against cancer and won this battle because she is now in Heaven.

Mrs. Glenn was born and raised in Durham. She was the daughter of the late James Clyde and Ethel Scott Womack. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James Lloyd Womack. She was a graduate of Northern High School, Watts School of Nursing and Western Piedmont. She made her career serving others as an emergency room nurse. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Mrs. Glenn is survived by her children, Mike Glenn and wife, Gwen, of Raleigh, Tamara Jeans and husband, Tommy, of Durham, Todd Glenn and wife, Rhonda, of Durham, Tonya Gooch and husband, Tony, of Creedmoor; her siblings, Buddy Womack and wife, Joann, of Jackson, TN, Faye Womack of Durham and Kenneth Womack and wife, Debbie, of Woodstock, GA; her sister-in-laws, Laura Sue Womack and Sheila Eason both of Durham; seven grandchildren, Alexandria Wheeler, Ashlyn Glenn, Cody Jeans, Nathan Glenn, Colton Murray, Nolan Gooch and Colin Gooch.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Greg Allison. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Creedmoor. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to Bible Baptist Church of Creedmoor Missions Fund, 2047 Gate 2 Rd, Butner, NC 27509.

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many she will be truly missed.
