Obituary for Thomas "Tommy" Dudley Clement, Jr.

DURHAM: Thomas "Tommy" Dudley Clement, Jr., 70, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, at his home. He was born in Granville Co, the son of the late Thomas Dudley Clement, Sr. and the late Marion Rutheford Clement. Mr. Clement was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Navy and the former State Commander for the Navy Seabee Veterans of America, Island X2, Hillsborough. He was in the construction business having worked for Carolina Sunrock, Asphalt Experts, Nello Teer, Siteworx Contracting, and the NCDOT of Granville Co. He visited Bahama Baptist Church and was a former member of Oxford Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Bahama Ruritan Club and served as Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 408 & 439.

Mr. Clement is survived by his wife, Sheryl Vowell Clement; daughters, Kellie Clement Grubic (Jason), Angela Carden Hilliard (Brian), Stephanie Carden Corcoran (Will); son, Thomas D. "Trey" Clement, III (Denise); sister, Marion Rutheford Clement; grandchildren, Jamie Grubic Tucker (Zachary), Garrett Hilliard, Daniel Grubic, Emily Hilliard, Liam Corcoran, Cadence Corcoran, Nina Morris, Maci Morris and great grandchild, Bret Tucker.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 17 at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham. Burial will follow at South Granville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clements Funeral Home.
