Obituary for Ruth Marilyn Stone

Durham: Ruth Marilyn Stone, 72, died Sunday, February 18, 2018. Ms. Stone was born and reared in Surry Co, NC the daughter of the late Sidney Joseph Shore and Ida Johnson Shore.

Ms. Stone was a resident of Durham since 1968. She retired from Elkins Chrysler Plymouth after 25 years. She was a member of Grey Stone Baptist Church, and Ann Dumas Sunday School Class for 45 years. Ruth loved and appreciated all her friends. The greatest blessing to Ruth are her sons and grandchildren.

Ms. Stone is survived by her sons, Joseph Gray Stone and wife Kimberly of Cary, Mark Andrew Stone of Durham; sisters, Katherine Whitaker of Walkertown, Nancy Twitty and husband Don of Mt. Airy; brothers, Roger Shore and wife Bessie of King and James “Pete” Shore Sheryl of Siloam and her beloved grandchildren, Virginia Stone, Jessica Stone, Joey Stone, Gracie Stone, Charlie Stone, Harrison Stone and Molly Kate Stone.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00a.m., Thursday, February 22, at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham with Dr. Clay Waters officiating

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Cir, Raleigh, NC 27607 or Duke Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Dr, Ste 101, Durham, NC 27704
