Obituary for Ronald Wallace

Durham: Ronald Wallace, 85, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Duke Regional Hospital. He was born in Durham, the son of the late James Fletcher Wallace and Claudia Carmen Wallace. He was a life-long member of Duke's Chapel United Methodist Church where he loved singing in the choir. He also served proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He then spent his life working as an accountant/bookkeeper and happily retired at 62. He also never met anyone or told a joke he didn’t like.

Mr. Wallace is survived by his daughter, Wendy Smith and husband Zane; son, Blair Austin Wallace and partner Scott Hauser and grandchildren, Hunter, Carson and Chase Smith.

A funeral service will be held 4 pm, Saturday, August 5 at Duke's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Everett Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. A reception will follow at the church.
