Obituary for Plaridel "Tito" Juan

DURHAM: Plaridel ‘Tito” Juan, 75, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Durham. He was born in Manila, Philippines to the late Teofilo Dar Juan and Maria Ledesma Juan.

Mr. Juan graduated with a B.S. in Mining Engineering in 1963 and a Master’s of Business Administration in 1969 from the University of the Philippines at Diliman. He was a member of the Pan Xenia Fraternity (1965). After 21 years of service since 1966, he served as Vice President of the National Investment Development Corporation (NIDC), North Davao Mining Corporation and as Senior Vice President/General Manager of Dacongcogon Sugar and Rice Milling Company in the Philippines. He retired in September 2011 from Brenntag Chemical Company after 18 years of service. On October 24, 1973, he married Rosario Navarro Cruz. On February 19, 1975 and June 15, 1980 respectively, he welcomed two daughters, Jenny and Tina.

Tito loved playing with his grandkids. He enjoyed reading, gardening, playing his guitar and piano, taking pictures, painting, traveling on family vacations, and playing with his new technological gadgets. He loves discussing spirituality and reading his Bible and other spiritual books. His talks always emphasized the importance of prayer in daily life. He was an active member of Holy Infant Catholic Church in Durham, NC since 1988. He brought communion to the sick, and was a member of the Parish Council.

Mr. Juan is survived by his wife, Rosario “Cherie” Juan; daughters, Jennifer-Ann Juan Brown (Richard), Maria-Katrina Juan Jun (Sung); brother, Mabini Ledesma Juan (Norma); sister, Sr. Amparo Ledesma Juan; and grandchildren, Julian Travis Brown, Richard Colin Brown, Anthony “Tony” Sung Jun, Logan James Jun.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, June 27th at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 28th at Holy Infant Catholic Church, Durham. Burial will follow at Markham Memorial Gardens, Chapel Hill.
