Obituary for Mark D. Hambleton

Hillsborough: Mark Hambleton, 62, passed away on September 6, 2017, surrounded by loving family. He was born to the late William and Helen Hambleton on April 8, 1955 in West Collingswood, NJ. Mark graduated from Haddon Township High School, and then received a journalism degree from Rider University. He married Lisa Pakuris on September 28, 1991, and they moved to Hillsborough, NC. The couple has lived here for the past 24 years, building a beautiful home and life for their three children.

Mark loved fishing, running, adventure, and his family. He was a member of a Raleigh Trail Runners in Durham, and he ran in both the Boston Marathon and the New York Marathon. He took regular family trips to the beach, where he would fish on the shore and organize pirate treasure hunts for his children and nieces. He loved hikes in the mountains, wandering through Christmas tree farms, and any other adventurous activities that allowed him to appreciate the beauty in everything. Mark loved nothing more than being with his family and showing them all the wonders life has to offer.

Mark is survived by his wife, Lisa Hambleton, and their three children: Rebecca, Jennifer, and Christopher Hambleton. He is also survived by his sister, Gail Jeral.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 9 at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham.
