Obituary for Lottie Armstrong Spell

DURHAM: Lottie Armstrong Spell, 82, passed away at her home in Durham on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was born in Burlington to the late Harvey Dodson Armstrong and Viola Jeanette Hardee Armstrong. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Shelton Eugene Spell, brothers, Paul Armstrong, Wesley Armstrong, Melvin Armstrong and sisters Hattie Bayliff, Ola Callahan, Maydelle Norwood, Ruby Bateman, Pearle Herndon and Lena Howerton.

Ms. Spell worked as Office Manager at Carol Woods Retirement Home until her retirement.

Ms. Spell is survived by her daughter Vicki Pickard, (Mark), and son Mike Spell, grandchildren Tyson Pickard, (Lauren Wells), Mikayla Spell, and sister, Margie Roberts (Milton) and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 29th at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donnie Cash officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Animal Protection Society of Durham, 2117 East Club Blvd., #101, Durham, NC 27704.
