Obituary for Linda Harless

Sister Linda Ann Harless was born to William Larsson and Kathleen Collins on June 11, 1948 in Queens, New York. After a spiritually full life, recently returning from a circuit assembly day, as an auxiliary pioneer, our beloved mother fell asleep in death on Sunday, September 10, 2017 faithful to her God, Jehovah.

She was raised in the Bayside neighborhood of Queens with her siblings. She enjoyed being outdoors and loved going to Jones Beach in New York. Her beauty was noticed in New York and she modeled for a few department stores. She also enjoyed reading novels and mysteries, which then translated to her routine of daily bible reading and personal spiritual studies.
She was married to her loving and supportive husband of 14 years, John Walter Harless, who preceded her in death in 2005.
Sister Harless bore six children; Donna, Florence, Clint, Christian, Jason and Travis. As a full time mother that cared for her family deeply, she instilled bible truths to her children. She first learned the truth in New York and made her dedication to Jehovah in 1978 at the Crownsville, MD Assembly Hall.
She raised her children in Gaithersburg, MD, Paden City, WV and Chatham, MA. In West Virginia, Linda was zealous for Jehovah and pioneered as her scheduled permitted. In Chatham, Linda helped to support her family as a CNA & Activities Director at Liberty Commons Nursing Home for almost 30 years. She loved her work at this wonderful facility because of the loving caregivers that she was able to work with every day. The residents also enjoyed her enthusiasm and cheerful disposition. She had an infectious and caring spirit that lit up the room.

Linda moved to North Carolina in February 2015 and joined the University Drive congregation where her son Jason attended. She quickly adjusted and made NC her new home. She enjoyed being gathered with friends and family, seeing the new sites that NC had to offer, especially the lakes and beaches. Her fondest times were praising Jehovah in the ministry and pioneering with her closest friends and family. She also loved Jehovah’s creation and took care of multiple pets; dogs – Ginger, Bucky, Sasha; cats - Kitty & Lucy.

She is survived by her dear children and their spouses: Donna & Greg Bailey, Florence & Richie Mylar, Clint Canepa, Christian & Helen Canepa, Jason and Monie Canepa, Travis and Christine Canepa; fourteen grandchildren: Abriella, Tevon, Tylor, Joshua, little Jason, Tony, Justin, Cody, Ethan, Paul, Selena, Natalia, Michelle and Sena; two siblings: John Geraci & Kathleen Khreim.

She will be remembered as a thoughtful and protective mother, loving wife and worshipper of Jehovah. She loved Jehovah’s promise of a paradise and we long to see her again soon - Revelation 21:4

The family will hold a memorial service talk on Saturday, September 16, 2017. It will be held at the University Drive Kingdom Hall at 635 Bon Air Ave. Durham, NC 27704. Please contact her son, Christian Canepa at 703-946-5256 for additional information.
