Obituary for Kathryn Fuqua Rhodes

DURHAM – Kathryn Fuqua Rhodes, 77, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Duke University Hospital. She was born in Durham, the daughter of the late Hugh and Lucille Duke Fuqua. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Odell Rhodes; and sister, Janet Truckner.

Kathryn was a longtime member of Bethany United Methodist Church, the Young Builders Sunday School Class and the Wednesday Morning Circle.

Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her daughter, Kim Overby (Kent); son, Greg Rhodes (Rosemary); grandchildren, Michael Overby, Robert Overby, Brittney Rhodes; and great-grandchild, Wesley Reeves.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 7th from 7 to 9 pm at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, August 8th at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Julia Webb-Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
