Obituary for Judy Brinkley Smith

Durham: Judy Brinkley Smith, 74, died Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Eno Pointe Assisted Living. She was born in Phelps, MO, daughter of the late Guy Lynwood Brinkley and Ruth Duncan Brinkley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Smith and son, Tony Strickland. She was a life-long resident of Durham, a graduate of Durham High School, Class of 1961 and retired from Duke University Medical Center as an Administrative Assistant. Mrs. Smith was a member of McMannen United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Sherri Strickland; sons, Al Smith III and wife Karen, Mike Smith and wife Lesa, Scott Smith; grandchildren, Brian Smith, Angie Mayes, Chris Mayes, Andrew Strickland, Sam Strickland, Bella Smith, Toby Smith, Frankie Smith; and great-grandchild, Jaxon, Marlee, and AJ Strickland.

A memorial service will be held 11am, Saturday, November 4, at McMannen United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Priestaf officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Flowers are acceptable.
