Obituary for John Thomas Vaughan

DURHAM: John Thomas Vaughan, 80, passed away at Duke University Hospital on Monday, May 29, 2017. He was born in Granville County, the son of the late Sam and Julia Gooch Vaughan.

Mr. Vaughan was a member of Eno Lodge #210 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Shriners Club.

Mr. Vaughan is survived by his wife, Peggy Vaughan; and brother, Sam Vaughan and his wife, Betty.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 31st from 6 to 8 pm at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 1st at Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Suzanne C. Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church at, 1919 Fletcher’s Chapel Road, Durham, NC 27703.
