Obituary for Hazel B. Thompson

Hillsborough: Hazel B. Thompson, 93, died Thursday, May 24, 2018, at her home. She was born in Davie Co, the daughter of the late John Arthur Bowles and Augusta Chambers Bowles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reid Thompson.

Ms. Thompson is survived by her daughters, Susan Walker of Hillsborough, Brenda T. Allen (Jerry) of Durham; son, Tim W. Thompson (Janice) of Hillsborough; and grandchildren, Wendy C. Walker, Chad W. Walker, Jr. (Katherine), Jody Allen (Christa), Jeff Allen (Lauren), Ryan Thompson (Jennifer), Cole Thompson and 10 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, May 27, at Clements Funeral Chapel in Hillsborough with Dr. Randy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Hazel’s memory to UNC Hospice either going online at go.unc.edu/unchospice or making checks payable to the Medical Foundation of NC and mailing to PO Box 1050, Chapel Hill NC 27514-1050.
