Obituary for Dan Dalehite

HILLSBOROUGH: Dan Dalehite, 77, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at Duke University Hospital in Durham. Mr. Dalehite was born in Hillsborough, the son of the late Robert Tyree Dalehite and Mary Ann Bishop Dalehite. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by three sisters, Ruby Carrington, Violet Whittington and Helen Dalehite Bissette.

Mr. Dalehite retired as a mail courier from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and formerly employed at American Tobacco Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Mr. Dalehite is survived by his wife, Edna Dean Dalehite; son, Danny Dalehite (Beth); daughters, Leslie Dalehite Gray (Ron), Melissa Ann Dalehite; grandchildren, Tori Dalehite, Landon Dalehite, Mackenzie Gray, Kali Gray; and sister, Faye Dalehite McLamb (George).

A memorial service will be held 2pm on Sunday, December 31st at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham with Rev. Virgil Nolen officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00pm to 1:45pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3216 Orange Grove Rd, Hillsborough, NC 27278, or to the donor’s favorite charity.
